In mid 1998, the Directors of NEHOC Australia traveled to Japan to meet with RISO and gain valuable knowledge of how Japanese PRINT GOCCO customers are supported by RISO and receive follow up information, projects, etc. [see note for further information on PRINT GOCCO in Japan]

Upon their return the GOCCOclub was established with the aim to provide a FREE ongoing information service to ALL PRINT GOCCO owners, providing a divers range of information on printing applications.

GOCCOclub News is posted to members without e-mail or Internet access, however the Internet is obviously the best method to receive information as text, colour pictures and links can all be displayed in the one document. In addition you don't need to store all the pieces of information in a folder - they are always available for your viewing on the web site.

It's the GOCCOclub's goal to ensure each member has access to the right information needed for a project of printing applications, so YOU the customer can be well informed of the materials and technique involved. With the right information available, you can make the best printing decisions, explore more applications and understand the versatility of this easy to use system.

Each newsletter is aimed to provide you new and diverse information and applications on the PRINT GOCCO systems - from simple card printing, through to multi-plate Shin Kohanga printing and colour screen printing applications.

The manufacturing company, RISO are concentrated on their upcoming range of RISOgraph duplicating machines, and PRINT GOCCO is primarily concentrated on their domestic sales market, with Australia and the US/ Canada the only other real countries supplying PRINT GOCCO.

Australian ingenuity has seen the development of many applications, well beyond that of the US [still using the old B6 system], so the GOCCOclub is needed to help develop these applications and advise others how to explore new uses.

We hope you will join with the GOCCOclub and share with us new applications and stay the world leader in PRINT GOCCO printing and developments.

Note: PRINT GOCCO in Japan is solely aimed at only ONE printing purpose - New Year Greeting Cards - to which every person sends and receives cards from friend/ business/ associates/ etc. If you receive 80 cards - you send 80 cards.

Japan has a strong traditional history of making New Years cards - not purchasing bulk 20 cards for $2 packs. Cards are traditionally purchased and made by hand with a personalised print placed on the front.

As you can imagine, PRINT GOCCO is the ideal product for this purpose, with 1 in 3 households using PRINT GOCCO for their printing.

Nearly ALL PRINT GOCCO is sold in the 4 weeks leading up to New Year, with NO advertising or support for the remainder of the year.

As you can imagine, this narrows the printing market and applications immensely, with the only other application being Shin Kohanga art prints. RISO were stunned to see a ceramic printing demonstration in their office, as they had not imagined the PRINT GOCCO could be used for such an application.
