How it works
No other method can create screens as fast and easy with no chemicals, solvents, hand cutting or time consuming exposure required. Your design are placed onto the mesh in a flash – all in normal light conditions from a bench top.
It's the unique formulation of the mesh which eliminates costs and time previously associated with making a screen using traditional chemical methods or hand cutting], as there is a thermal film pre-coated to the mesh, which is then burnt away to expose your design.
Melting the thermal film from the mesh requires either a battery powered Print Lamp imaging technology, or an electronic Thermal Screen Maker system. Other equipment such as photocopiers, laminators, heat guns etc do not work.
Print Lamps
Print
Lamps are constructed from tungsten fibers, encased in glass with a plastic
protective cover. Print Lamp machines use batteries to 'fire' the Lamps which
then melt as the voltage passes through the tungsten, just like a fuse.
There's a bright flash, however the light does not image the screen, it's the heat generated from the lamps melting.
As the tungsten melts during the imaging process Print Lamps are a once only use item and must be replaced to image further screens.
Print Lamps are used in both Screen Printing and PRINT GOCCO systems.
Thermal Screen Maker
The Thermal Screen Maker uses and electronic heat lamp which is illuminated as the artwork/mesh combination passes through the machine to image the screen.
The lamp is reused and there are no consumable parts in the electronic models so the operating and screen production cost is much less. This is off course only of benefit if you are making more than 10 screens per month, as the initial cost of the Thermal Screen Maker is much higher than Print Lamps systems.
Using your Computer to create artwork

As you can imagine, using this system gives you the freedom to re-produce any design from a simple photocopy - You don't need to be artistically minded, however by utilising your computer to design and produce artwork you have an INSTANT PRINT SHOP at your fingertips.
For artwork design and layout, a computer will produce ideal designs, when coupled with a laser printer, PROVIDE PERFECT, HIGH QUALITY ARTWORK!!
If you have a laser printer then you can use your prints as artwork directly with your system - for details on Artwork Preparation for Laser Printers - Click here . .
A typical Bubble Jet printer is not designed for professional printing. You can certainly get that result but you MUST use special photo-gloss paper and very high dpi settings.
If you have a Bubble Jet Printer then combining the design capabilities of a computer with PRINT GOCCO provides a truly professional and powerful printing system.
Here's a great example of how
computers and PRINT GOCCO can combine to produce eye catching results.
Wendy Stein from The Golden Quill was commissioned to turn a customer's painting into a Christmas card. Wendy scanned and transferred the painting to computer and using a design program (such as PhotoShop or Corel Draw) a new layer was added to the design - this being the PRINT GOCCO print.
The design was printed on a bubble jet printer and the border and wording overprinted with Gold HM paper Ink in the PRINT GOCCO. Click on the picture to view one of the best examples of combining computers and PRINT GOCCO that NEHOC have ever seen - Congratulations on a marvelous achievement!
