PG-11 Video - NTSC Japanese Format

A copy of the NTSC video for PG-11 may have been available in initial PG-11 Kits sold in Australia, however this video is no longer available.

The following is a guide to the translation/ understanding of the Video enclosed in the PG-11 kit. Viewing this video helps to graphically show the process of printing, what goes where etc. Where possible use the counter guides provided to keep track of visuals and explanations.

• Insert PG-11 video and begin playing.

The counter on your VCR should be re-set to zero on the introduction of the PG-11 logo at the commencement of the video.

• Three beeps sound as the PG-11 squares appear – reset to ZERO at the twinkle sound and the wording appears. (The beeps will act as a count in)

• PG-11 Japanese Instruction Manual – This manual replaces the Japanese version.

Part 1 - PG-11 Kit Outline

• NB: Protective plastic on Registration Plate.

• Open Battery Cover and insert batteries (provided in kit) – replace when done.

• Stage Glass – A unique feature, Master Guides at top and bottom, Master Holders at left and right.

• Registration Plate – remove by pulling out close to hinge.

Note - Plastic cover must be removed before printing.

• Pad Table – remove plastic cover before printing.

Part 2 – Printing with PG-11

• Select your design from the book

• Cut out the design.

• With carbon pen write in additional information ie name/ address/ etc

Ideal size is 140mm x x90mm & Other artwork examples

• Remove the plastic cover from the Pad Table.

• Center Alignment Guides to the ‘Home’ position.

• Insert Print Master from right to left under Master Guides.

• Insert Card onto pad – use paper guide where possible to ensure correct registration of each print.

• Place artwork onto card ready for imaging.

• Remove Print Lamps from pack and place into Lamp Housing.

• Insert Lamp Housing into PG-11 machine – slide in rear first ensuring the alignment marks are correct as indicated.

• Place hands on front corners and press down to image screen.

Use caution there is nothing else in the machine that may effect toe hinge movement.

• Remove Lamp Housing – CAUTION Print Lamps will be hot.

• When cool remove lamps – CAUTION Print Lamps can be crushed when exposed.

• Open PG-11 machine and remove Print Master

• Select your desired colours.

• Lift back plastic cover from Print Master.

• Place Ink Blocking around design area.

• Ink Print Master with desired colours – Use PRINT GOCCO Hi Mesh Ink only.

• Once inked replace plastic cover.

• Open PG-11 and replace Print Master.

• Gently remove artwork from Print Master.

• Ensure Pad Table is in ‘Home’ position.

• Print first print.

• Once printed, view the design and check ink coverage/ etc.

• Place cards into Card Racks to dry.

Part 3 – Multi-Plate Printing

PG-11 is the perfect machine for multi-plate printing due to its fine detail registration ability.

• Select your design from the book

• Cut out the design.

• With carbon pen write in additional information ie name/ address/ etc

• You will have 3 separate pieces of artwork.

• Center Alignment Guides to the ‘Home’ position.

• Insert B6 HM Print Master and 1^st piece of artwork.

• Insert Lamp Housing – CAUTION – insert correctly

• Flash design and remove Lamp Housing.

• Remove the Print Lamps from the Lamp Housing – CAUTION Print Lamps will be hot

• Repeat for the 2^nd & 3^rd pieces of artwork.

• Place Ink Blocking around design area and cover with ink.

• To mix ink, use the pallet sheets & pallet knife supplied with the kit.

• Insert Print Master & remove artwork.

• Place original artwork onto Pad Table

• Peel off plastic cover from Registration Plate.

• Insert the Registration Plate into the PG-11

• Perform a standard print onto the Registration Plate.

• Look through the Registration Plate – if it is not aligned, loosen the Alignment Pegs and align the design – tighten Alignment Pegs when finished.

• Remove Registration Plate.

• Clean with RISO OK Cleaner & tissue.

• Remove the artwork from the Pad Table and place card/ paper onto the Pad Table.

• Print design as normal.

• Card Racks will hold the design and speed drying.

• Place 2^nd Print Master into PG-11.

• Lay the 1^st print onto the Pad Table.

• Insert Registration Plate and print.

• Align the design as required.

• Remove the Registration Plate and continue printing run for 2^nd Print Master.

• As with the previous masters, insert the final Print Master and align the design – using the 2^nd printed copy for registration.

Part 4 – ‘Full Colour’ Process Printing

• Involves 3 pieces of artwork printed in the three colours – Cyan, Magenta & Yellow.

• 1^st print is Cyan

• 2^nd print is Magenta

• Sample of both colours together

• 3^rd print IS Process Yellow

• Final Result

• Cut out the artwork & image your Print masters.

• 1^st piece

• 2^nd piece

• 3^rd piece

• Print the Cyan copy first

• When ready to print the second colour, insert the Registration Plate.

• Print and align the design by adjusting the Pad Table – tighten Alignment Pegs when finished.

• Remove the Registration Plate and complete print run.

• After completing this colour, again insert the Registration Plate, print and register the design.

This will finish your print run and provide you with a ‘Full Colour’ print.

Once finished printing – protect your Print Pad by inserting a blank card and lowering the lid.

Part 5 – Card Competition & RISO Details

Every PRINT GOCCO owner can enter the International Handmade Printed Works Competition (Card Competition). The competition is held annually with entries opening Mid October and closing Early January.

Keep a copy of ALL your designs printed and enter this great competition each year - The prizes are fantastic with individual winners selected for Australia as well as internationally.
